There's no doubt that Blu-Ray is gonna beat out HD-DVD in that war, but I honestly don't think either will get adapted on a mainstream basis.. I think by the time HDTVs are in the majority of people's homes.. Blu-Ray and HD-DVD will already be outdated....

No, because Blu Ray and HD DVD are supported. I dont recall ever seeing a CD released on mini disc. So whats the point of buying a CD, only to convert it to mini disc...?

blu-ray and hd-dvd will be one of the last formats for stuff. everything in the next 5-10 years will all be digitally distrubuted. bill gates said it and they were also talkin bout usb flash drives becoming the next format. since they load fast, are durable, getting cheaper, etc.
