Ps2 problem :(

What do I do when tha ps2 says reading disk error...but it only does it to the cds with tha purple sides to them? what do I do to fix it?

call up the sony number on the box. tell them that the cd thing has an error, just dont tell them if you spillled anything on it. they should repair it for free an it will take like a week or two to get it back

Use a cd cleaner frequently and turn your ps2 vertically (standing up). should take care of your problem. I've had mine since it first launched and its still working properly.

LOL, Yeah bro my shits the same way, but my face plate is one of them detachable ones, and when I have to shake the shit out it to get the cd tray open it sounds like a maracha with all the loose parts jumping around...but hey, it still works.

same shit happens to mine. i heard that it only happens to the 1st generation ps2's. and something you can do that helps is tape the top of the game you want to play, i've heard that it grinds because its some clamps trying to hold down the disc but i guess they're too short or something. i've also heard that if you call sony and tell them you have this problem they'll replace or fix your system.

if u have it standing up, try loading the disk up wit the ps2 horizontally.....or the other way around.. my ps2 does that but i jus flip it around and it seems to work

i disagree.... tha XBOX is tha best system out, but tha PS2 has better gamez. and i have access to a PS2 whenever i want so im not really missing out. LoL. i would never buy one tho, unless they became REAL cheap.

i have the first generation ps2 and it works fine, i have everythin for it i have the dvd controller and fuck stacks of games, and myne hasnt fucked up once. i play on a daily basis and watch dvd constantly. and make no noise or have any problems.

DUDE THE SAME SHIT HAPPENED TO MINE, YOU GOTTA OPEN YA PS2 WITH THE SCREWS ON THE BACK AND THE SPRAY THE INSIDE WITH AMMONIA AND BLEACH TO GET RID OF THE BUILD UP OF RESIDUE ON THE CHIPS (YOU CANT SEE IT)....SPRAY IT LIGHTLY,LET IT DRY, THEN WIPE IT DOWN...DO THAT LIKE ONCE EVERY 3 MONTHS....ALSO TRY RUNNING A CD CLEANER ON THE LENS...OR JUST SPRAY WINDEX ON A CD AND POP IT IN
