what up folks, og,s and triple og's,

Yo i heard a couple a dude's music that use protools and the shit sounds clean as fuck, and for those of you that heard my recordings know that im lacking that crisp recording sound, so do you think that protools is the way to go, if so what kind of set up do i need and how much should i spend. i dont need anything to make beats, just layin down vocals.

It's all in the converters of you audio interface. Protools has good converters. So if you can get it to sound good when you record it, mixing is just icing on the cake.

^PRO-TOOLS AIN'T ALL HOW YOU MAKIN' IT OUT TO BE. JUST MORE PEOPLE USE IT. I'D RATHER USE CUBEVASE, LOgIC, OR SONIC SOLUTIONS.
You obviously don't know much about engineering or recording. Sometimes I think you comment on threads just to sound like you know what your talking about.

i can name a slew of programs that kill pro tools
and i definately know about engineering...

shit i'm recording right now with a $100 mic in the worst accoustically sound room in the world...and can still knock out better mixxes in 10 minutes then a lot of cats...

that being said...
the program doesn't have much to do with the sound...except it's good to have the 32 bit floating point....

pro tools converters aren't shit compared to a lowly Lucid AD/DA...plus the clocks aren't shit either
