I havent had much time to say anything about the game last night cause ive been out of town and worked all day. The Kings deserve alot of credit for this win, and im here to give whatever credit I can. I think the game was actually a good one and I know some of you were bitin' your nails till the end, but the Kings showed there true championship ability and mentality, BEATING the three time champs. They are definatley the frontrunners to win the title in my book. Before you hate on what i just said, know now, I really dont like the Kings, and yes it does have to do with their rivalry.
The officiating in the game was typical, there were some bad calls that went both ways. The most obvious one being jackson getting his hand broken. To tell you the honest truth, its hard to see the actual foul the way it happened, but clearly he didnt break his hand on the ball. The Lakers DID benefit from the bad calls. However, the Kings clearly tried utilizing the history of bad calls by going the extra length to complain about anything that didnt go there way. Numerous times I saw Kings players start yelling foul, and when they replayed it, no foul could be seen. I would have done the same if I were on the team, any advantage in todays era of basketball, you need to take. Thats not to say that this game was a clean one, there were some fouls that even I couldnt believe, and when a 330 pound center swats your hand breaking it, thats never acceptable. You cant hate the Lakers for it, what are they supposed to do, complain that it was a foul? 10x the amount of pressure is put on the REF's to call a good game when the Lakers play, ESPECIALLY against the Kings given the history; with the exception of 2-3 obvious bad calls against the Kings, i think they did a decent job.
The Lakers seem to be going nowhere, and im not going to tell you they will dig out of the hole they put themselves in. I have faith in my team, I hope they can, and I think they are fully capable of making the playoffs. Someone on here said something along the lines that there is a difference between the reality of this sport, and being an idiot about it. Meaning, I love the Lakers and im a Laker Rider for life, but put me in a casino and im putin ALL my money on the Kings to win the title. Dont be mistaken however, the Lakers arent out of this, and I havent, nor will i ever lose faith or doubt that they will win the title, untill they are statistically out of the playoffs.
