It's cool, the only thing I don't like, is that it's all self contained. There's no MIDI out which kind of blows. Another thing I noticed while using it, is that it kind of takes the punch out of some sounds. For instance, when I load a kick in the drum machine/sampler it sounds like it makes the sounds not as hard hitting. It's easily fixable by hooking up some eq, compression, etc but it is also somewhat annoying.

Other than those problems, I like it. My favorite part is the automation, the Dr Rex, and the NNXT (sampler). The new distortion and reverb are pretty good too, they have a lot of programming possiblities as well.

i think it a pretty complete program but its not something you could jump right into without consulting the manual.....i had a chance to use it.....but i didnt like it because i like to turn the machine/software on and just make something...well with reason, it aint that easy to do cuz u gotta load sounds and load different effects and crap. once you get the hang of it.....reason makes a really good stand alone production studio.......however i dont plan on using it any time soon......too many headaches!!!lol

I found reason to be a little lacking. It's a nice, convient idea, but it is not modular enough for me. I prefer using a VST based sequencer and using VSTi plugins. There are much higher quality VSTi synths availible than the ones in reason, and since it is not updated that often, it quickly gets obselete.

Thanx

I've been messing with Reason 2.5 for the past few hours. It's cool. I'm more of a knob and button type nigga. I like to zone out and vibe. Too much mouse action goin on.

Nice beats Bumpus!
I'll be posting audio late October or early November.
I'd like to get your opinion.
