I saw it, its cool but i'm a little dissapointed it doesn't have VST support. The new mixer looks sweet though. It would be a workflow improver for me though, 150 dollar for the upgrade makes it worth checking out

holy shit they finally did it. Ive been waiting on this for a loooong time now. I was getting tired of rewire. It does suck that it doesn't have vst support though. maybe another version will come up down the road.

Looks sick, but no VST support. Cmon now. :ermm:

It does seem very plain though. I mean it looks like it's strictly built for recording right now. I don't see no built-in instruments or anything of that nature. Well I guess you NEED reason to have those instruments like Thor. Might as well go with something like Cubase, Logic, Pro Tools. Or heck, just go with Reaper.

It does look dope. But with it really only being an upgrade for Reason user, I won't be happy until they throw in recording capabilities for the NN-XT (Unless Record allows you to drag your recorded audio into the NN-XT) and MIDI mapping control over all of the controls of the NN-XT Remote Editor.

I think its kind of useless without turning it into a full blown DAW, they should have threw in VST support. Another major point is that reason and record are SEPARATE APPLICATIONS, no one is gonna buy record unless they already have reason and don't have a DAW already because for 4 bills as a daw this software is pretty limited. Most people rewire reasons sounds to get access to better effects and dynamics. The effects in reason are decent but don't hold a flame to even the stock shit in the major DAWs like Sonar, Protools, Cubase, Logic and DP. The propellerhead people dropped the ball on this one, major fail

they had a real doofus presenting the thing at namm too. had no public speaking skills. made the product look like absolute crap.

No Vst support
separate application
new mixer that looks like an SSL but the propellarhead people hold no affialation with the SSL people lol.

this product is almost useless, like i said before im a very faithful propellerhead user, been running reason since ver 2. I just can not understand why would anyone want to rewire a half ass daw into another daw for a final mixdown? The only instance i'd see anybody doing that is with Live just because of how that software is designed to be more of a performance tool that a DAW but it works as one very well too. I love how the workflow of reason is set up and i think if done right they would have a product that would be serious competition to the big guys but what they are putting out just isn't gonna cut it

Propellerhead is gonna have to make some major improvements to this to make it worth picking up. I think they are scared to step on peoples toes since I'm sure they get a very pretty penny for all the DAW companies having reason adapted come with their systems.

So wait...you mean to tell me they STILL haven't implemented the midi i/o so you can sync your gear? That's what I thought they did with this. LMAO! If this has no sync capabilities, it's as good as dead as a stand alone mixer unless the mix engine is clean as hell. If not, this is a waste of time, effort and resources that will only benefit reason users.

nope its basically a daw just for reason. no vst support, no outboard hardware. Its simply something you can record audio into and turn reason into something more logic like providing you have Reason on your system already. My beef with this tho is the price tag. If you spend $400 on reason then this for $150 you have already spent too much money and its a crippled daw. Heavily crippled. Hell this shit makes Pro Tools LE look innovative.

Which is why I said they should have did this from the start.

I like Reason just how it is. Id rather implement it into another daw that I like rather than use it inside of itself. I think rewire makes Reason a lot more flexible.
That's great that you like Reason just the way it is. I'm sure there are tons of people who like it just the way it is. However, when the app first came out and I auditioned it at a GC in Frisco, the main questions I had were it's midi capabilities when it came to syncing and abilities when it came to recording. Sadly, these things were not really addressed until different versions of the app were released, and from what I understand, these things are still in there infancy or simply don't exist. So it didn't suit my needs for how I work, still doesn't, and I know there are many people who feel the same way.
