prison terms for not protecting your child from child abuse

it's on the john walsh show right now.a mother and sister of a lady are split between their daughter/sister's prison term for not protecting her child from child abuse that resulted in death.the mother thinks her daughter should'nt be in prison and the sister thinks she should.do you think the lady should be in prison or not?

personally neglecting your child especially if abuse is going on and not protecting them from the boyfriend or husband is just as bad.so i think she deserves to be in prison.

i know it hurts to see a family member in prison i know first hand but come on the mother was like "your not my real daughter" (to the other sister who's against her sister for not protecting her child),the mom was like "my real daughter is in prison".
