Strikeforce announced Sunday the field for its Nov. 16 four-man middleweight tournament at the HP Pavilion in San Jose, Calif., tabbing Trevor Prangley (Pictures), Yuki Sasaki (Pictures), Jorge Santiago (Pictures) and Falaniko Vitale (Pictures) for the first one-night tourney sanctioned by the California State Athletic Commission.
Bracket matchups are expected to be released in the coming days.
Each tournament bout will consist of two, two-minute rounds. If the judges score a draw, an additional period will be added to the clash to determine a winner.
Joining the middleweights on the bill are Paul Buentello (Pictures) and Alistair Overeem (Pictures), who will battle for the vacant Strikeforce heavyweight title.
Expected to compete on the card in non-tournament bouts are Cung Le (Pictures), Luke Stewart (Pictures) and promotional light heavyweight champion Bobby Southworth (Pictures).
