I've had 5 songs from this album on my computer for the past 3 weeks and finally bought the album today... It's amazing.
The band is made up of ex- Anatomy of a Ghost members and features Nic (from Gatsbys American Dream) singing vocals on a couple of songs.
All I can say about it is that it's like a combination of old Queens of the Stone Age (Rated R instrumentals) mixed with a calmed down version of The Mars Volta (Vocals/Lyrics).
Check out the songs: How the Leopard Got It's Spots, Gold Fronts, AKA M80 The Wolf, Marching With Six, Elephants, Chicago, Guns.Guns....Guns (hahah thats like half the album right there) Fuck it, check out the whole album, it's great.

I got the cd about a week after it came out and it gets played constantly in my system. It is a great fucking cd all the way through IMO. There is only 1 song I don't care for much and it's still an alright song.

Glad to see someone else on here is up on Portugal. The Man....great band.

I didn't notice this post until I scrolled down a bit lol.

haha good shizzo Nuttkase. So would you agree that Elephant sounds like a TMV track? Up until Nic absolutely annihalates it at the end lol. I've never heard him sing like that.
But yeah, I've been listening to this nonstop since I got it. I love how they can sound like a different great band with every song.
For examples: Elephant sounds like TMV, M80 AKA The Wolf sounds like QOTSA, Marching With Six sounds like an awesome version of Blood Bros....

Elephant and Marching With Six are my favorite tracks on the album. The whole album is great IMO though. I kind of see the comparison with the Blood Brothers on Marching With Six. In the past few months I have become a big Blood Brothers fan. I know you said you listend to them and didn't care for them much but you should really download Crimes and listen to the album front to back a couple times...shit is sick as fuck IMO.

I checked out some tracks by Gatsbys American Dream and I was really feeling their shit alot. I'm going to go pick up a couple of their albums this up coming week. I also checked out Anatomy of a Ghost too but I wasn't really feeling them much. The music was pretty sick but I wasn't feeling the lead singer at all.

Oh yeah and Elephant does sound alot like a Mars Volta song...until the end lol.

As much as I love The Mars Volta I have been listening to At The Drive-In alot lately (like right now lol.) I'm starting to think I like them more. Their music was soooo fucking sick. Omar is a fucking savage on the guitar on the whole Relationship of Command album.

It's funny because I checked out Sparta too when ATDI first broke up but I wasn't feeling them too much. I checked them out again about a month ago and they are actually pretty tight...Mars Volta is surely the better of the two though.

Buy Volcano and Ribbons & Sugar from Gatsbys. Those albums are insane.
Yeah I've actually been tempted to buy a Blood Bros album just to get more into them. When I saw them open for Coheed I loved them, but since I listened to some of their albums I wasnt impressed.
Another funny thing I just found out about is that Sparta/Coheed's current manager is ATDI's old manager. And supposedly he was the reason ATDI broke up. And he's been A LOT of the drama behind the shit that's nearly caused Coheed to break up lately... lol I fucking hate the guy (Bla,ze J--am**es) I cant put his name without that shit in case he knows who I am on this site lol.

If you pick up a Blood Brothers cd get Crimes first (it's their newest). Let it soak and I bet you go out and pick up the rest of their stuff.

I never knew that about ATDI and their manager...that shit is crazy.

You listen to the Yeah Yeah Yeahs at all? You can listen to their whole new album on their myspace...shit is dope. It drops on March 28th...I can't wait.
