has anybody used this MBox?how does this differ from the standard Pro Tools set-up?

i dont think there could be any "pros" exept the portability,so whats the "cons"?

The Mbox is notorious for being a piece of shit. You should visit the DigiDesign forums and read all the complaints from users.

Sick Wid It - My internet access is extremely limited at the moment, and when I try to go to those forums I haven't been able to get on (computer crashes). Would you please tell me a few complaints that people have about the MBox? I've been seriously looking into getting one, just so I can run Pro Tools on my system. I was planning on using a delta 44 for my ins/outs (I'm not recording vocals and when I prefer to track my shit out one track at a time... kind of a waste considering I have 8 outs on almost every piece of equipment I have ha)

Do you think there would be a problem getting the MBox just so I can run pro tools and track my shit out through the delta 44 before I take the session to the studio to record vocals, since I won't be recording those at the house? The place I record at, I don't like the way the do things in pro tools, and I'd like to prepare the beat myself with proper effects/fades/chops/etc... but don't really see a need to spend more bread on a Digi001/002 if that's all I'm going to be using it for.

THE CARD CAN BE HAD FOR 99-175 AND IS THE CHEAPEST PRO TOOLS ALTERNATIVE (NEXT TO PRO TOOLS FREE). THE ONLY DRAW BACK IS LIMITED IN AND OUTS, NO PRE AMPS FOR MICS, IT'S-10DBV AND HAS 18 BIT CONVERTERS.

ebay has mbox for 300 or so....comes wit protools...i was thinkin of tryin it out....but the Audio card sounds cheaper...
