Pop Ups

Anyone know how to stop these pop ups? They are like ads, i don't even have to be doing anything on the net and they just pop up HELLA different ones like pop ups when you go to a web site and shit

mayne i got this problem with pop-ups that only happens when i use internet explorer.......i had to get netscape and i have no pop-ups when i use netscape.....

and ive got spy-bot, ad aware and all that bull shit and it still hasnt gotten rid of these fuckin things.....and netscape sucks!!

Are they popping up in your browser window, or are they lookin' like little microsoft boxes with an "ok" button in them?

If it's the window with the "ok" button, you need to disable "Windows Messenger". I don't remember how to do that but I think it might be Control Panel/Messaging or something like that. Do a search for it somewhere and you'll find instructions.

They arint the microsoft ones, they look like regular pop ups from a website...

You should just get the Norton Internet Securty package for around 45-50 dollars. It comes with norton antivirus 2004, and the internet security part(ad-blocking,personal firewall, etc.). Works for me, it even blocks ads on the sites, as well as pop ups. By doing this, it makes loading times for pages much simpler....well, for me anyways.

I downloaded the popup blocker from google @

and it works pretty good. its free and it cuts down the number of pop ups by all kinds I do get a few here and there but they are rare. This is the way to go if you don't wanna spend extra feria.

or you could always download it off kazaa lite...

but thas what i use and i never had any problems. and i don't even block ads/popups...

ya'll be on them porn sites too much...lol
