there is definitely no wrong answer up there. they all apply. i would have to say that economics, installing a u.s. friendly govt. and the very last one about re election and doing something in americas favor would have to be top 3. wmd were just the excuse to get there and liberation was a nice way of saying "were probably not gonna find any"

Bush wouldn't do something like that, would he? He's such a benevolent and hard working dude, oops I meant a ignorant rich f*** who's only interests are fiscal gains for himself, his administration, & his corporate constituants (domestic & foreign)

They're all reasons why

Bush believed:

To bring freedom and democracy to an oppressed people
To find and destroy any WMD or capability to produce/propagate them
To wage another battle against an international terrorist in the larger War on Terror
To ensure re-election and the favor of the American people by taking a large, visible action percieved as globally productive and in U.S interests

And real reasons included:
To install a U.S.-friendly government in the Middle East
To spread American ideals of democracy and capitalism in the Middle East
To further the economic interests of U.S businesses and/or his donors/constituents

That's something I realized after I made the poll...the reasons why "we" went in don't necessarily gel with what Bush knows/believes.

I personally did not vote for the "furthering of econ interests", because I believe Bush honestly did not have that in mind. However, it is likely Bush's cabinet very much saw and were aware of these benefits.
