some perspective....

Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin is scheduled to take part in a ceremony on April 7 in Katyn with his Polish counterpart Donald Tusk.

Polish President Lech Kaczynski will mark the anniversary in a separate ceremony on April 10.

Tusk said his invitation from Putin was an important step in improving relations, and that their honouring of Katyn victims had a 'very important symbolic aspect.' Putin reportedly told Tusk he knew what an important place Katyn had in Polish memory.

However, Polish President Lech Kaczynski did not receive an invitation, which caused speculation that Putin was punishing the Polish leader for his outspoken critiques of the Kremlin.

Kaczynski is regarded by some as a Eurosceptic, and emerged as one of Moscow's most vocal critics during the Russia-Georgia conflict in August 2008.

Kaczynski could travel to Katyn, but nobody will meet him, an anonymous source from Russia's foreign ministry told the Russian edition of Newsweek. The source added that Russian President Dmitry Medvedev was not intending to invite Kaczynski either.
Kaczynski was snubbed by Putin in favor of Tusk, who is one of the few high-ranking members of the Polish government still alive...

and this..

Vilnius - Presidents Dalia Grybauskaite of Lithuania and Lech Kaczynski of Poland announced plans Thursday to build a new gas pipeline connecting their countries.

'We have decided to seek that the construction of gas connection between Poland and Lithuania is declared a priority project of the European Union and that this project receives full European support,' Grybauskaite said after a meeting between the two in the Lithuanian capital, Vilnius.

The proposed pipeline would link the Baltic states of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania to the Polish gas supply and transmission system.

Grybauskaite said the pipeline would ensure alternative supplies to the region, which currently relies on Russian gas.
^ was two days ago.

So lets see here... Viktor Yuschenko of Ukraine was a staunch opponent of Russia. He was ousted in the last election. Kyrgyzstan's president Bakiyev was ousted in a bloody revolution three days back that saw over 500 people killed or wounded. Their new interim-leader has great relations with Putin. And now the Polish president and a bunch of high-ranking Polish government officials, VOCAL critics of the Kremlin, are now dead after their plane crashes in Russia. That means the only remaining anti-Russian politician in Russia's backyard is Georgia's president Mikheil Saakashvili. <--- Remember that name. If anything happens to him in the coming weeks, that's a sure sign the shit has officially hit the fan...

even still, somethin aint right.....

ahh well. More reason to smoke as much quality weed as possible before we all blow up.

MOSCOW – Polish President Lech Kaczynski and some of the country's highest military and civilian leaders died on Saturday when the presidential plane crashed as it came in for a landing in thick fog in western Russia, killing 96, officials said.

Russian and Polish officials said there were no survivors on the 26-year-old Tupolev, which was taking the president, his wife and staff to events marking the 70th anniversary of the massacre of thousands of Polish officers by Soviet secret police.

The crash devastated the upper echelons of Poland's political and military establishments. On board were the army chief of staff, national bank president, deputy foreign minister, army chaplain, head of the National Security Office, deputy parliament speaker, civil rights commissioner and at least two presidential aides and three lawmakers, the Polish foreign ministry said.

It was not expected to directly affect the functioning of Polish government, however: Poland's president is commander in chief of its armed forces but the position's domestic duties are chiefly symbolic. The prime minister and other top government ministers were not aboard the plane.

Poland has long discussed replacing the planes that carry the country's leaders but said they lacked the funds. The presidential Tu-154 had been overhauled in December in Russia, officials said.

Russia's Emergency Ministry said there were 96 dead, 88 part of a Polish state delegation. Poland's Foreign Ministry spokesman, Piotr Paszkowski, said there were 89 people on the passenger list but one person had not shown up for the roughly 1 1/2-hour flight from Warsaw's main airport.

Poland's parliament speaker, the acting president, declared a week of national mourning.

"We still cannot fully understand the scope of this tragedy and what it means for us in the future. Nothing like this has ever happened in Poland," Paszkowski said. "We can assume with great certainty that all persons on board have been killed."

The plane tilted to the left before crashing, eyewitness Slawomir Sliwinski told Rossiya-24. He said there were two loud explosions when the aircraft hit the ground

damn nebulizah and timebomb are on this shit, you guys speak the truth from all ive read confirming a lot of what you say. we'll see what happens, im kind of leaning towards this being fully accepted as an accident and tragedy, with a speedy decisive investigation and clean up.

it's interesting to be looking in from the outside as it develops in real time. but what really interests me is how this will be told in five, ten, twenty years. lol discovery history channel episodes with aero engineers talking about how it was a recipe for disaster from the beginning, weather experts talking about the apocalyptic fog and invisible tree line. pilot was a drunk who fell asleep etc.
