Police Confiscate $1.2M Drugs From PHISH Fans

HAMPTON, Va. – Some Phish fans are leaving Hampton a little lighter than when they arrived for the band's weekend reunion.

Police said Monday they confiscated about $1.2 million in illegal drugs and more than $68,000 in cash from concertgoers. Authorities also arrested 194 Phish fans during the three-night celebration of the band's return to the stage after a nearly five-year absence.

Most of the arrests were for drug possession, use and distribution, police said.

Tourism officials had estimated 75,000 fans would be coming to the coastal Virginia city. Nearly 200 law enforcement officers worked the weekend event, with the Vermont-based band picking up the tab.

It's a little suspicious that they hadn't played a show in almost 5 years then they come back and 194 people get busted. Almost like one of the group members got busted for something and to get out of it he said the band would play a show and the police could bust everyone there. Kind of like an indirect way to snitch.

^- For real. Back when I was still in high school I worked at a Hardees on the turnpike out where I live and a bunch of phish followers came in a with lot of VW vans. I knew immediately what they were up to so I talked one into giving me some acid for some burgers. And that was a fucking mistake. Talk about the worst fucking shit I've ever had. That shit had my back all fucked up and any sort of light would blind me. Way too much strychnine or something.. I'll definitely never take acid from someone I don't know again lol...

so how do they confiscate cash? the only thing i could that think would be is if these people were buying drugs at this concert, but 68 g's? someone please explain to me how this works...i mean did they take 20 dollars from every person? im saying there couldnt have even BEENNNNN 68 g's among the concertgoers at this place, unless Tony Montana himself was livin it up, kickin with 64 g'z in a jordan briefcase.
