There's a lot of people on Ebay selling XBL Silver accounts loaded with 4000 points.

Once you pay for it, they send you the info to recover the account on your Xbox. Once you do that, you buy whatever you want from the Marketplace with that recovered Silver account, and whatever you buy (minus avatar items) should work on your normal Gold account.

Has anyone done this and know if it works or if you can get banned by MS?

i bought one of those for MW2 first map pack and it was legit. you won't get banned my MS.
