You can't have a baby decipher a masterpiece. One has to gradually learn how to listen to DE's music or he/she will be turned off quickly. The majority will not even give him a chance because they have been brainwashed with either mainstream garbage or sub-par artists thet attempt to bring something different to the table. The order in which you allow a newcomer to take a listen is of major importance as well. You can't force someone to listen to one of DE's later projects without having them listen to a Southbound or Planet Zero first. If it takes a true DE fan some time to let his work soak in, imagine how long it will take the untrained ear? Therefore you must forewarn the listener that they need to have patience, and only then will they be at a stage where the music will explain itself as ogmaniac541 stated.
