playing .tar files

does anyone know how to play a video that's in .tar format? Im having a lot of trouble with it.

you probably have to rename the file to .mpeg or .avi

whichever the video actually is.....

yeah,i think you need Winrar to extract those files,you can download it for free at www.winrar.com its the only one that works with rar and tar formats

tape archive = .tar, and no its not compressed, a tar.gz is compressed

I know how to unzip the files with winrar.. I just dont know how to PLAY the movie because its coming out as like a bunch of little bitch files.. no avis or mpegs, weird shit.
