yeah man....that song "one day" always brings a tear to my eye....I FEEL that shit, na mean? I could tell that there was a real friendship behind that. To me, that album is, off top, my favorite shit of all time. Hard to Swallow got me open, never heard "banned"(cant find it), and ridin' dirty blew my fuckin' mind. I used to have this 12" single of "front, back, and side to side" and it had this remix on it.....OFF THE FUCKIN CHAIN. I want to say it was screwed, but not the lyrics, just the beat.....DAMN that shit was FIRE!!
To me they ARE the south. I'm not into snap music, trap music is cool with me, but there is just something about UGK that sets them head and shoulders above the rest. They are a perfect combo, Pimp C's swagger and talk, and the d-boy/b-boy Bun muthafuckin' B. I bet a trillion bucks that if Bun was from NY, he'd be rated in the top 5 of best lyricists.
I wrote that cat Pimp C when he was in jail. I've never done that type of shit before, dont even know if it got to him, but I kind of felt like I had too, na mean. I'm glad the negative is in the past and they are FINALLY getting a chance to be heard.
