PICS FROM "THE WEST FEST" 6/15/08 - SNOOP, DPG, WARREN G, F.A.B., KAM, EIHT & MORE
First of all thanks to Frank Nitty from Tha Lowlifes for the hookups, and thanks to Sho Shot of Tha Lowlifes and MC Eiht. So Frank Nitty hooks me up with Sho Shot to go take pictures of him and others at this event, and of his performance. We were sposed to walk in with Sho Shot but ended up goin in with MC Eiht, Kam & Goldie Locc. We were in the dressing room for about the first hour with Kurupt, Kam, MC Eiht, Soopafly, Damani, Domino and others. Then Snoop's security started sweeping the backstage area and kicking people out. We had been told all day that we needed wrist bands or passes to be backstage, even though I am a photographer for one of the performers, but nobody seemed to be able to locate the passes or wrist bands all night, we got the run around everywhere we went, security, production people, etc. So we weren't able to be backstage after about the first hour, but we were still right by the backstage area and hung out with all the artists all night, and watched the show, so it was the best of both worlds. The Fillmore security are all straight faggots, they were fuckin pricks all night. Old hippies on a power trip.
Anyways the show itself was real dope, everybody did great performances, nobody looked bad at all. The performance order was Domino with Sho Shot of Tha Lowlifes, then Western Union (Soopafly, Damani & Bad Lucc), then Warzone (MC Eiht, Kam & Goldie Locc), then Mistah F.A.B., then Tha Dogg Pound, then Snoop Dogg started his set, did about 4 songs, then Warren G came out and did his set, then Snoop came back and they did "Ain't No Fun", then Snoop finished his set, and to close the show he brought back F.A.B. and they brought out Too $hort as a surprise and did "Life Of Da Party".
Domino did his classics, opened with "Ghetto Jam" & "Sweet Potato Pie," and did some new stuff. Western Union was dope. Warzone killed it with their classics. Kam did a couple classics including "Whoop Whoop", Eiht did a couple classics including "Streiht Up Menace," Goldie Locc did "G'd Up", and their new group single pounded so hard it shut the speakers down twice. F.A.B. did a dope set as usual, his stage presence and personality make him a good performer. He did most of the songs he's known for like "Sideshow," "Ghost Ride It," "Super Sic Wid It", "Don't Spill It," "Helmet On My Head", "N.E.W. Oakland," "Grown Man On", and some others, plus he played "Boss Tycoon" and "Fellin Myself" from Mac Dre and brought his Mom out and performed his song to her off his Son Of A Pimp album. Tha Dogg Pound show was dope, they started off with "Nuthin But The Cavi Hit", and did a gang of more stuff I can't remember like "Who Rid Wit Us", "What Would U Do", "Bitches Aint Shit", "We Can Freak It," and others. Warren G did "Regulate," "Do U See", "I Want It All", and a couple others. Snoop I'm not even gonna name all the songs, basically all his classics and most of his new hits except "Beautiful", he came out to "Murder Was The Case".
