The first of a long series of shows and events for the Guns Down Mics Up Organization took place Friday March 14th, and it was a success! The message was heard, as the artists and fans in attendance were talking about Stop The Violence all night, plus many of the artists talked about it during their performances on stage! Many other of the Bay Area rap industry's elite came out and supported as well, artists and media.

The show itself was crazy, the combination of artists from the old school and new school was dope, many many San Francisco legends in the building, Oakland, Sacramento, Pittsburg, EPA and many other areas heavily represented!

JT The Bigga Figga supported and came out doing his Mandatory Business Magazine thing, shooting pictures all night. He also gave a surprise performance in the middle of the show that had the crowd goin crazy. OG Fly Mar kicked the show off in style. Totally Insane got down and so did Cold World Hustlers, they both dropped classic after classic. If you have been in to Bay Area rap for a long time, this was a fun event to be at. TC was in the building, Pho-Balo and lots of others.

Then of course from the new generation The Jacka from the Mob Figaz did his thing as usual. He hosted the first half of the event, and performed his hits like "Hey Girl," "From The Hood" and the new single "All Over Me." Sumthin Terrible made the trip from Sac and did their thing for all the hyphy heads.

Shouts out to Mr. Sandman and Nevasoba from the Guns Down Mics Up Organization for doing this positive event, myself and Daddy Rich were glad to be a part of it. And a big thank you to the Save Our Youth Foundation for coming out and being a part of the event!

the money from this show went to the Guns Down Mics Up orgnization, I'll let Mr. Sandman explain further about that. But they've got a lot of events planned in the near future for the organization like Charity Basketball Games, Bowling and Skate Parties, more Live Shows and lots more

You dont find it hypocritical to rap about violent shit, and then turn around and put on a show called "drop the guns"??? Cmon now dukes...you should see that one comin a MILE away....


Isnt it "practice what you preach"?

Or is it a "do sa i say, not as i do" type thing??

yea I shoot with my flash on, but I still get some dark ones, I just try to find the best ones to post, I don't post every picture I take, but I pick the best ones and I just lighten them up some, and then just sharpen them a little, I don't put effects n shit on em, just brighten em a little if they need to be and sharpen a little so they crispy haha

it's the same old shit homie, you could call it entertainment, or you could say it's my life not your life, you feel me, be yourself, if someone is living a certain way you don't have to, but really what this is all about once again is these artists have influence so why can't they try to teach the youngstas coming up under them that they aint gotta do what they did or do.

we've all heard the analogy that if Arnold or Sylvester Stallone or someone kills 1,000s of people in a extremely violent movie, they can't in their life try to promote something positive? some may say well that's not keeping it real, but real is knowing who you are, and being man enough to do you and man enough to teach those who look up to you.
