Photoshop EXPERTS...???

How do i take the border off a pic? One pic has a "background" where as the other one is "stand alone". Is that making any sense? Here are some examples, the top one having the plain, white background and the second standing alone with no canvas:

I used the lasso, but it didnt work. It still has a canvas with it.

you can do that in mspaint. just trace around it (im sure you can use the lasso) copy and paste open another mspaint window and paste it in

done it hella times with pics (thats how i put dana inside the ghost ride it dvd cover)

EDIT: NM, i found out, but it still doesnt do what i want it to do.

2) Edit Pic/Delete Background
3) Save as Transparent GIF or Transparent PNG

PNG is better, GIF is always jagged around the edges...

its simple. use the wand tool,

click anywhere on the background and then hit the delete key. then click on any of the white within the logo if you want to make the bulldog's face clear too.

make sure you save it as GIF or PNG so it stays transparent.

I think I know your problem. at the bottom right where it shows the layers panel, does it show a thumbnail of the logo, and does it say Background next to it? or Layer?

You need to duplicate the layer then delete the original as it is locked and you need it to be unlocked so you can have transparency.....
