I'm looking to get into photography and have been looking around at some of the work that's been posted here. Is most of the photos that you guys post just taken, croped/size, and posted, or has there been some photo manipulation done to them? Specifically, J.Colombo and Trajik (some of the work I've looked at lately). I have a pretty good digital camera (I think), Nikon CoolPix 8700, 8 MegaPixels). New to photography, just looking for some advice.

I'll post up a few pictures that I've taken when I get a chance.

Colombo, I need to see car crashes, I haven't seen one lately, lol

There was a hit-and-run though about 3 weeks ago and luckily there was photographer made the time to shoot the car, car's license plate and of driver too (driver's face)

that's the camera he used, it was sitting just in his backseat

OKay. But I was looking for a little advice on taking pictures and manipulation (if any is done/needed).
How do you expect them to tell you what exactly to do so you can take or edit good pics like them, do google searches, read books there's tuns of info out there, it just depends how much time you are willing to spend learning this stuff, it don't happen over night..........

My best advice is learn Film Photography first..then get into digital..

Too many people take advantage of todays technology without remembering yesterdays work.

Get into a dark room, cop a canon/nikon and learn about manual manipulation..then you will start to understand digital manipulation.

If you are serious about getting into photography, i suggest getting a Nikon D50/70/80.. whatever you can afford. Those are basic SLRs.. Then when you are ready to upgrade, do it. I say that because many people find that "getting into photography" is a quick hobby they decided to pick up..and then get bored and move on. Don't go all out unless you are serious and making serious money in return for your investment.

Or just for the love of photography.
