This is proof that the hyphy movement did more harm than good. I can respect any artist that stayed in their lane during that time when everybody was on that hyphy bandwagon.

It just sucks that the artist that stayed in their lane have to suffer the repercussions.

shit, I rok a airbrushed shirt for the fallen fam N $oldado$. But in my opinion the bay for me was just clean sneaks, creased jeans N a Tee of some sort, wit a hat fa sho. Unfortunately the younder cats wanna dress like "mtv lil sister jeans wit a gucci belt" get the fuk outta here! When I was growin up in the bay my flavor developed in Daly City from that serramonte or tanforan shoppin wit my older bros N cuznz. I think for outside of the bay headz they just think of cali as khakis n chucks. I really dont think a lot of these knuckle headz from the outside can efficiently get a grasp on bay style just from that genre of music (meaning hyphy). My opinion anyway......carry on.

I understand how alot of outsiders wouldn't understand but it's no different than cats from NY hating on the south, or when the east and west didn't like each other. Some folks just miss out on good talent and form their predjudices off some bullshit song that you know a niggas gonna end up bobbin their head to on the dance floor one nite when your faded.

Maybe it did more harm than good in the long run, but when things were poppin' off people outside of the Bay was finally hearing some Bay music. I think because it didn't amount to anything is why it's a bad look and that was the latest music out the Bay so now that's what we known for.

I gotta admit though, I was livin' in Hawaii at the time and all that Hyphy shit (sideshows, ghost riding, scrapers, dread shaking, thizz facing, belligerent slang, etc.) looked ignorant from the outside looking in. People used to ask me about it too cause I'm from the Bay, but I was more on some SMH shit cause I didn't agree with all of it.

people ashamed of the hyphy movement need to turn in their bay pass.

thats like being ashamed of your parents for making you rock a bowl cut or suffa. you couldnt control it so embrace it. mac dre started that shit. that shit was not as bad as everyone says. the people who talk down upon it WHO ARENT IN THE GAME hate it cause they bitch got fucked to it. the hyphy movement was dope. before the mac passed i was fucking with the shit, before everyone got on the bandwagon an i rode that shit till the wheels fell of. parties, broads, pills, all that. i got mad respect for the rappers that kept it true og bay and MOBBish, but shit, support the movement. only thing that should have happened was self regulations. alot of wack ass rappers got fame cause of the hyphy shit which made the bay look like "ok, yall can have a good time, but what about everything else?"
