LOS ANGELES -- Lakers coach Phil Jackson headed to Chicago with his team Monday, one day after he feared continuing discomfort from a kidney stone would delay his departure.

Lakers forward Robert Horry told ESPN's Dan Patrick on The Dan Patrick Show on Tuesday that Jackson will coach the team tonight in Chicago.

Jackson has had two ultrasound procedures in two weeks to break down the stone. A fragment of the stone caused the 57-year-old coach to lose sleep and complain of back pain last weekend.

The Lakers play the Bulls to start a four-game road trip that includes stops at Detroit, Minnesota and Milwaukee.

The stone caused Jackson to miss three games. He had coached 1,249 regular-season and playoff games without missing one in 13 NBA seasons -- nine with the Bulls and the last four with the Lakers.
