No excuse, no team is gonna go from 2-14 to super bowl with ANY qb in nfl history, the colts window is closed, and Time for Peyton to move on to a team that gives him the chance he has earned to compete at the highest level.
Didnt Miami go 1-15 one year, and then go 11-5 the following year like 6 years ago? The NFL is designed to do that. A team can be putrid one year, and in the playoffs the next. Indy stunk, in part, because Peyton wasnt there. That being said, Indy wasn't going to win the SB with him this past year.

Football is literally a game of inches. A tipped ball here, an overthrown ball there off the finger tips, etc. Many teams are always a play or three away from a different outcome. But Peyton Manning changes not the just the offensive side of the ball, but how the defense plays and dials up packages as well. At the end of the day, i don't want him to leave Indy, not because he could end up in KC, but because I hate seeing great players that stick with one team their whole career only to end up somewhere else trying to prove they can still play (Montana, E. Smith, Rice, Timmy, etc). Not that that they can't, but I like old school football. If they drafted you, you pretty much were with that team for your career. The root of all evil is to blame at the end of the day $$$$. Don't kid yourself though, any team Peyton is on has a shot at it all, believe that.

The 49ers where still a 10-6 team with out joe montana, but he being healthy made us a legit super bowl threat, The colts have been falling off for along time, there best team was 2005, and they still choked.

Reuters
Amid talk that some NFL teams will court Peyton Manning so aggressively that they’re willing to sign him without watching him throw, now comes a radio report saying the Kansaas City Chiefs have already offered Manning a contract.

Radio host Brandon Spano reports that the Chiefs were the first team to formally offer Manning a contract, making him the offer on Thursday, the day after his release from the Colts became official.

At the moment this is just one radio report that hasn’t been confirmed elsewhere, but it fits a growing narrative that the Chiefs’ interest is real. Chiefs coach Romeo Crennel went right up to the tampering line, and may have even crossed the line, by gushing about Manning even before the Colts released him, and the Chiefs reportedly contacted Manning shortly after it became permissible within league rules.

The Chiefs are an intriguing option. They weren’t far from the playoffs last year in the weak AFC West and have a good chance of being better this year, considering that arguably their two most talented players, Jamaal Charles and Eric Berry, played a combined total of three games last year. Manning would like to have a receiver like Dwayne Bowe, and the Chiefs are in relatively good salary cap shape, good enough that they should be able to give Manning a healthy contract and still have room to bolster the roster elsewhere as needed.

We don’t know for sure that the Chiefs have actually sent Manning a contract and are simply waiting on him to put pen to paper, but it certainly does sound like the Chiefs are one team that will aggressively pursue the biggest free agent of the year.

Glad my squad is in on Manning. Sounds like they are taking the lead........

This would make us the team to beat in our division.
