The difference here is that Rose gambled on his team to win, and Joe Jackson was, whether he was in on it or not, a part of a team that was paid money to lose games.
Rose will be reinstated eventually, hopefully soon.

We haven't seen the end of that one, but I think time will be forgiving in his case.

to me the difference between rose and jackson is pretty big. jackson got banned for life because he rigged the world series. now as for rose i think he probly should stay banned from baseball affairs directly relating to todays games for gambling wether he bet on/against his team, but i think since his mistakes were after he retired he should be allowed into the hall of fame because they had nothing to do with his play. his is a hall of famer based on his play.
I think Rose has suffered enough from everything, I mean when you ask someone who the greatest players of all time you'll never hear his name mentioned. the man was fuckin awesome, he broke one of the hardest records that there is to break!! I guess Bart was gonna actually let him back in when he was commissioner but he died before he was able to do it. Thats why this has gona as long as it has. Look at the fuckin appluase he got at game 4, it was longer than everyone else's that was there, and he never even played in the bay. he was a legend, and he should be remembered for the way he played and not what he did after he played.
I think they should both be in. Joe Jackson did take money to throw the series but had the highest average of the series. For his case its been a long time, the man has been gone a long time. If Rose gets in I think Shoeless Joe needs to be in also. What the both of them have done on the field cant be taken away.
