I know this is kind of old news (11/17) but I haven't seen any mention of it on here.

Anyway, the following article (although what has been done can never be undone), at least it is a step toward accountability. Those who took time to discuss this issue a couple of weeks ago, (whether for or against the use) helped raise enough awarness in less than one week, forcing the GOV'T to take responsibility. The truth is important, especially down the line when it comes time for the perpatraitors to answer!!!

The U.S. government has now admitted its troops used white phosphorous as an incendiary weapon against Iraqis during the assault on Fallujah a year ago. Chemical weapons experts say such attacks are in violation of international law banning the use of chemical weapons

White phosphorous is often compared to napalm because it combusts spontaneously when exposed to oxygen and can burn right through skin to the bone.

The Pentagon"s admission comes after a week of denials that it used white phosphorous as a weapon in Fallujah...

On that same day Democracy Now aired an excerpt of the documentary and interviewed Lt. Col. Steve Boylan, the director of the Pentagon's Combined Press Information Center in Baghdad. During our show Boylan denied the claims made in the documentary that white phosphorous was used as a weapon to target Iraqis.

Lt. Col. Steve Boylan interviewed on Democracy Now, Nov. 8, 2005..

But the Pentagon was caught in a lie after it was revealed that an official Army publication called Field Artillery magazine had disclosed that the Army had in fact used white phosphorous as a weapon.

"that white phosphorous was used as a weapon to target Iraqis"

"had in fact used white phosphorous as a weapon."

....

Looks to me like the only lying going on is garbage like right here, where they can't even get their facts straight, and determine whether he said it wasn't used as a weapon AT ALL, or whether it wasn't used as a weapon AGAINST IRAQI CIVILIANS.

Clarification is in order.

From your response' it is obvious you haven't read the article in its entirety, therefore you're statement's have little relative validity (like most of your debates).

If you have read the complete article or watched the broadcast you would know that positions which defend the military's actions are represented. However, they are absolutely 'wrecked', for they blatantly lie in one interview, and deny it the next, then switch the focus elsewhere.(common spin tactic's)

WP burns through skin, but leaves clothes in tact.

First the military completely denied the use of WP

Then they admitted to its use, but not on civilians and insurgents...

Then they admitted to its use on only 'insurgents' w/ 'accidental' civilian casualities...

Whoever believes this is a just war needs to swallow their pride and look at the facts of reality. On account of the U.S. GOV'T, we have created more death, terror, distruction & chaos than Saddam has ever inflicted (this is to no way support or endorse this Tyrant dictator, so don't mistake it or spin it that way). This war is specifically desgined to benefit the corporate interests of BushCo and all the admins cronies, with human & civil rights on a complete back burner. Period, point blank, end of Story.
