anybody heard this? my dad picked it up the other day and has been listening to it alot lately, from what i heard it doesnt sound too bad. i mean, its your typical watered down rock but listenable.burnt a copy so going to listen to it later to see how it is...any opinions?

...one more thing,i think progressive bands like TMV and tool ruined rock for me,makes regular rock seem so damn boring, makes it harder to get into bands like pearl jam

The new Pearl Jam is really good IMO. I am a pretty big fan of their work and it's my second favorite album of theirs behind Ten (which they will never top.)

I like all types of rock music but I agree with you about progressive/experimental bands usually being the best.

I don't want to hijack your thread but I have a quick question about Pearl Jam: do they have an unplugged album. My pops tells me they have a great one but I've never seen it. Plus he's getting a little old, so I think his mind might be playing tricks on him.

They don't have one official "unplugged" album but on a lot of the live official bootlegs their are quite a few acoustic/unplugged songs. Maybe he just heard one of those.

You sure he isn't thinking of either Alice In Chains or Nirvana? They both put out AMAZING Unplugged albums IMO.

It's funny you say that, because I actually think Tool has ruined all music for me. I only started listening to them a little over a year ago, but these days I pretty much exclusively listen to Tool CDs. I hardly ever listen to rap any more, and all other music sounds like shit to me now. It's weird how much a band has changed me as far as my musical tastes.......

No, we've got both of those. I liked AIC's unplugged better for a long time, but I'm starting to like Nirvana's a little more now..probably because I haven't listened to it nearly as much. I think he's just getting old and doesn't know what he's talking about lol.

Anyway, back to the thread, I've never really liked Pearl Jam that much. I like the musicianship, but I really cannot stand Eddie Vedder. It just sounds like he's trying too hard sometimes. I still listen to them from time to time, but they're not my favorite band.

p.s. props on closing that Paris Hilton thread.:classic:
