I mean, in some instances you chould charge, but not no 5,000 dollars like some people are. Even Jay-Z it's like 10 G's to get him to say some bullshit!

Let's do the math....

Maybe an example of a local cat!

Say I spend 1,500 to get Puffy on a song (not really)!

I spend a total of 2,000 bucks recording the album!

Printing, Promotions and other shit! 2,000 (cause we broke)

Then when the CD hits the stores, you only sell 500 of them on average locally at 12.00 bucks a pop! You gross 6,000 bucks and you spent 5,500 making the CD...

You've just made 500 dollars after all of that bullshit...

I would maybe charge 100-150 bucks "IF" I was good and my lyrics contributed to the CD's success! Some artist are wack and alway's talking about they dont rap for free cause E40 said that shit, now that's their excuse for wanting to be paid! It's tough dogg!

But honestly, I wouldn't charge anyone at all.....

DAAAAMMMMNNNNNEEEDDDDD!

That's bullshit dogg....

I would be looking out for people to make it in the game also, and wouldn't charge people to have me on their shit!

Eminem thinks that he's Elvis Presley anyways!

I can't believe that shit dude! Nigga's are on that bullshit...

F.T.I. to that!

if you get artists like that on your album you will definitely sell more than 500 copies.
plus, you can't just expect anybody to want to be on your album for free when rapping is their career.

still, i understand that making 10,000 a track is ridiculous but you have to also see that the music industry generates WAY more money than that. A lot of these artists are just trying to get their share of the money.

that eminem shit is just bullshit... he dont' need the money. why ask for so much.

i think they should just get royalty points for doin it. if the record sells they get roaylties. if it sells a lot, they get shitloads of money. (well not really, has to sell A SHIT LOAD to make a lotta money with 1point on a record)

If you think paying someone to get on your album is bullshit...then you are an idiot. Its a business, don't forget that.

When you pay an artist, you are paying for a service that you need. A local artist in KC might pay Tech for a verse becuase thye know that it will help them sell units. You pay people to expand what might otherwise be a small market. I used to think $5000 was alot for a verse, but when you look at the big picture...you only need to sell a little over 500 units to pay for that. If $10000 is what Jay Z charges then I sure as hell would pay for the verse. If you can't recoup 10 g's of Jay Z's name, you are in the wrong business.

As i sit here I am trying to think of an example, and this might be out there...but its similar. If you want nice or "popular" clothes, odds are you are going to pay more. Alot of the time, when you buy more expensive clothing, you gte better quality. Its all supply and demand; don't blame the artist, blame capitalism. Eminem and Jay Z can charge that much because people pay them, and apparently its worth it..or they wouldn't be paying it.

Thanks for your time...and until next time, take a fucking ECON class!

Heat Myser, you are absolutely right, but the high dollar amount is what will kill me. ...

It should go like this...

-If you are already an industry faggot, then charge a shitload!

-If you are a no name strugglin' local cat, then get real...........!

So I'm not gonna expect a local to cat to dish off more money than they are gonna make so I can say something on their album that will come and go! It's not that serious. Once you make it, you can't forget where you came from, and I know that it's tough, but once I get the break in my life where I am paid and shit, I'll still have the love for the game and remember that someone out there can use my help to make it where I am! It's all about being real to the game and yourself. I hate muthafuckas like that, when they get big wanna charge a shitload so another muthafucker can't shine!

Help a negro out dogg... You've made enough bread! It can't do anything but help if I am on everyones shit in the city, cause that gets the word out on you forreal!
