Paulie Malignaggi: "I Will Embarrass Chavez Jr., his father, his entire family..."

I normally wouldn't post trash talk but the She-Man is kinda disrespecting a boxing legend by saying this shit...saying he'll embarrass the entire Chavez bloodline, lol

Paulie Malignaggi: "I Will Embarrass Chavez Jr."

BROOKLYN – IBF light welterweight champion Paulie “The Magic Man” Malignaggi (24-1, 5 KOs), still savoring his masterful title-winning performance against Lovemore N’dou, is home in Brooklyn fuming about Julio Cesar Chavez, Jr. (33-0, 26 KOs) and his team openly challenging him.

Not only has Malignaggi accepted their challenge, “The Magic Man” promises to embarrass the Mexican fighter and his entire family in the process, offering the Mecca of Boxing – Madison Square Garden – as the ideal venue to settle the issue.

“All Chavez has is his last name,” Malignaggi spewed. “He’s gotten more press for beating nobodies than anybody in boxing history. All he’s ever fought are cab drivers and busboys. He’s nobody! I was a better prospect before my first pro fight than he is after 33 pro fights. I will embarrass him, his father, his entire family, and ruin his blood line.

“I have tremendous respect for his father, probably the greatest Mexican fighter of all-time, but his son can’t live off of his father’s great name forever. If Chavez and his team are stupid enough to call out a world champion like Paulie Malignaggi – he’s never fought anybody like me -- I’ll oblige them and we can do it at Madison Square Garden, where his father had two great wins in 1986 against my friend, Juan LaPorte, and Rufugio Rojas. I didn’t even waste my time watching Chavez fight last Saturday night. Hey, I’m no Louis Brown. I’ll fight him at 147, no problem. I say, don’t talk about it, JC Junior, let’s just do it.”

Malignaggi concluded by saying Chavez’ promoter, Golden Boy Promotions, can make it happen by contacting his promoter, Lou DiBella.

I gotta go with Paulie in this one with a 12rd UD. At this point Chavez is still too young into his career to deal with a guy like Paulie. You have to remember that Jr. never had an amateur career so he's still learning as he goes.

I agree, Pauli would easily beat Chavez Jr. at this point in his career.

I still think it's fucked up for Pauli to diss a legend though!! You want to diss Jr. thats fine but no need to bring his pops into the mix.

BTW, is Chavez jr. still fighting Gomez? If so, I wouldn't mind the winner fighting Pauli

Yeah, that was out of line dissing a legend like that. It's probably just his way of getting Jr. to get in the ring with him because at this point(according to boxrec), Jr. doesn't have anyone penciled in as his next opponent.

Paulie looks like a fag, but that doesnt change the fact that he is far more skillled and experienced than Chavez Jr. I gotta go with Paulie by UD.

Arum: Bring on Malignaggi!
BOB ARUM STATEMENT:
"I have read with interest Paulie Malignaggi's statement calling out Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. Paulie is a great kid who fought a very courageous fight against Miguel Cotto. Unfortunately for Paulie, Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. would clean Paulie's clock if they ever fought. If Paulie is really serious, he should have his promoter Lou DiBella contact me so we can arrange a fight between the two next year either at Madison Square Garden or at the STAPLES Center in Los Angeles."

I don't like Paulie either, but I think he would beat Chavez Jr very easily. It looks like Chavez is going to fight Alfonso Gomez next, so maybe this fight will happen next year, although I think Paulie should have another fight with a quality opponent this year and then maybe move up and go for another title shot next year.

lol @ she-man....

Chavez is my hero, diss his son, that's cool.
But diss the legend? Now it's on!

I guess Cotto's ass whoopin didn't humble him enough.
Now I will root for who ever this dyke faces!

As for fighting Jr....
I don't know. Paulie could probably outbox him by running all night.
Jr does have slow footwork.
But who knows, he's got a great left hook to the body like his daddy.
I actually like Jr's odds against She-Man over Gomez....

Chavez Jr. The Favorite To Face Malignaggi

By Rick Reeno

The young lion of Culiacan, Mexico, Julio César Chavez, Jr (33-0-1, 26KOs), is the favorite to face IBF junior welterweight champion Paulie Malignaggi (23-1, 5KOs). The Showtime Network is said to be interested in the fight for December 1. The fight would take place at the welterweight limit of 147-pounds, Malignaggi moves up by seven pounds and Chavez would move down from junior middleweight.

Other factors exist for Malignaggi, like a rematch clause from his recent bout with Lovemore Ndou, and an obligation to face the IBF mandatory, Herman Ngoudjo (16-1, 9KOs). Promoter Lou DiBella has advised BoxingScene that he is confident of being able to work everything out.

"I've had some good discussions with Bob Arum (promoter of Chavez) about it, and Showtime likes the fight. It could happen; nothing is signed for Paulie to fight anyone at this point. Chavez runs his mouth and calls out a fighter at 140-pounds, who in his opinion can't punch. Chavez, be careful what you wish for. The last guy Chavez fought was some guy that Dmitriy Salita knocked around at 140. I really like this fight for Paulie." DiBella said.

"There is a rematch clause for Ndou. We do have an obligation to Ndou, and Paulie will live up to his obligation. Ndou has some very smart people behind him and they know the U.S. networks have not shown an interest in a rematch. Ngoudjo is another fight where the US networks have not shown an interest in picking up. The fight with Chavez would be at 147 so Paulie is not risking his title.”

Paulie looked superb against the bigger and veteran fighter, Lovemore N'dou. It's a given that I have Paulie winning this fight by decision, but I won't count Jr. out if he can sneak in one of those body shots. The fact that he's been fighting nothing but bums for the past 4 years however, doesn't sit well with me and there's no excuse. Paulie himself only has 24 fights and is a world champion, Mayweather won the WBC title only in his second year, and Tyson only after one.
