LAKE ELSINORE
After a Lake Elsinore couple's daughter told them she had been sexually assaulted by two acquaintances, the couple allegedly went to the individuals' house and beat them, putting both in the hospital, authorities said Friday.
Tiberio Enrique Salza, 32, and his wife, Leia Jenice Salza, 40, were each arrested Thursday on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon following an alleged attack on two people at a residence in the 33000 block of Churchill Street in Lake Elsinore, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.
The couple apparently decided to take matters into their own hands after learning from their 16-year-old daughter that a man and woman she met Thursday morning sexually violated her, said sheriff's Sgt. Michael Yates.
"The victim also told her parents she had been drinking and had taken unknown prescription medicine," he said.
The Salzas allegedly confronted the man and woman at their residence, hitting and kicking the pair as well as striking them with "an unknown type weapon," according to Yates.
He said sheriff's deputies were called to the location and arrested the Salzas. The alleged victims were transported to a hospital for treatment, Yates said.
Authorities are investigating the daughter's allegations.
Both of the girl's parents are being held in lieu of $25,000 bail at the Southwest Detention Center in Murrieta
