My popz is Coo about it! He doesnt go around knoccin it but he will listen to it! alot of parents dont understand what we get from this music! so I had to break it down to popz one day and let him know I am into REAL music about shit thatz really going on in tha streetz and in My city! plus we can relate to alot of the shit these rappers are talkin about, smokin dank, chasin money, police brutality, strugglin, depression all that shit! So my popz is real open minded when it comes to my music now! Most of the time if you break down why you listen to rap or whatever parents will realize that its not just music itz a way of life its reality!

My mom bought me my first rap tape back in like 86. It was Run-DMC's Raising Hell album. Moms didn't really like it but she never said I couldn't listen to it. Like every one else said, My mom likes Tupac as well.

Now keep in mind, I graduated in '95, but before I could drive, my moms used to let me blast my music in her car...lol I even had a Ray Luv an Mac Dre bumper sticker in her rear window of the Camry! My parents have always been behind self expression and whatever kind of music I was into...Hell, I remember moms standing in line for 3 hours while I was in school to buy me an my sister 2 Live Crew concert tickets lololol...Not to say she liked the cussing an all, but both my mom an dad told me they remembered THEIR parents hating The Beatles and Elvis...So I feel fortunate I grew up like that cause it's helped make me who I am today and who I WILL be.

My mom hates it, she blames rap music on me "not respecting women"

Since I'm 21 now, I get pretty hammered at family occasions, anyway I got all drunk at this Father's day thing my mom had . . it was sunny out and I had the stereo outside playing "VAMANOS" Full blast explaining the lyrics to her. She let it play for about 2/3 of the song and told me when I'm at her house not to play that shit, lol. She also told me, "No more alcohol, I mean it" LoL

Same here! And she bought it at the Berryessa Flea Market in San Jo of all places!

My parents dont really like my music though. My dad likes Digable Planets and Rodney O and Joe Cooley.

They hate it. All they choose to hear is the cussing in it. They don't hear anything else, especially my dad. He always asks me "Why do you listen to that kind of music?"

One time they were sittin' around watchin' Choices. That suprised the fuck outta me. It was around the 4th of July and I'd just gotten in from buyin' fireworks and there they were watchin it with my aunt. I'm suprised they didn't watch Players Club or Now Eat. Now, that woulda been some shit.
