How many of you parents would let you kids watch "Menace II Society" at a young age?

If you would, discuss why... and vice versa.

Discuss...

sure. because i live on the west coast and i saw it every day, regardless of a movie.

were speaking in past tense, when menace to society was out.

teach your kid that movies are entertainment and should not influence you in any way shape or form.

do that, and they wont be runnin' around hittin niggas with anvils and bombs because tom and jerry did it.

shit i remember seeing menace back in what uhhhhhh 94 that'd make me 8 LOL... my folks usually let me watch or listen to whatever the fuck i wanted. i remember having my mom buy me the fucking Cube-Amerikkkas most wanted tape in like 93. it all started when we lived with my cousin and he had all the NWA tapes and i used to sneak em out and take em to kindergarden with me and play em in the casio portable cassette player. lol after that it was a wrap....

my parents didnt trip off that

when i was 4 i recorded a tape of my favorite cuss words and gave it to my mom as a present ... my older sisters helped me but my mom just laughed

my mom also bought the first 2 episodes of southpark on VHS and made us watch it all the time when we were hella young

my favorite movie when i was young was dazed and confused lol

I wouldn't go to my 5 year old and say "hey let's watch Menace II Society". If I was watching it though and she walked in and saw some of the rough parts in it, like Gas said you have to let them know it's entertainment and not real. You can't keep em in a shell. They'll be out here runnin wild like a lot of preachers kids i grew up with. Parents wouldn't let them watch or do nothing and they ended up being the wildest ones in the group.

yeah my baby can watch it, but its certain scenes (especially sex scenes) that she don't understand and is not allowed to watch... thats when its "close your eyes!".... she usually already knows when to cover her eyes up.... she's 6 and smart than a muthafucca!... but she knows whats up with the street shit.... i aint worried about her seein niggas get shot or beat up on a movie... she sees that shit on the street... but when they shootin up, freebasin or fuccin, its time to go lil mama!....

Nope, I would never let my daughter watch a movie that strong, there's lots of violence and plus a sex scene.

Like I tell my daughter, your channels are the kids channels on Direct TV...got all that shit set up for her and my niece..

sports, spongebob, mickey mouse club house( i does the hot dog dance), star wars on friday nights. anything related to guns and violence isnt an option. but yeah, it is inportant to explain the difference between entertainment and real life.

im gonna raise a smarter kid than one that watches a movie and is confused or inspired by it.

if i let my kid watch menace to society, id talk to him/her about the movie afterwards.

let your kid watch bruce lee movies and sign them up in karate or taekwondo early. its good for discipline.

bruce lee kicked alot of peoples asses but he was intelligent. good role model, and was still a badass.

trust me when i saw i wanted to be liek bruce lee more than o-dog.

(although styling my hair like o-dog in 8th grade got my virginity raped..shout out to larenz tate for that)

Well, I was raised on horror movies and gangster movies, and my music was never censored by anyone, and I wouldnt say that had an adverse affect on me. I was always taught to learn, you know, if I wanted to learn about something then to go for it, and always be open to learn. So on that note if it was brought to me by the kid Id watch it with them sure, but I say that not having any kids of my own, but I know if my girls kid wanted to watch something like that, aside from asking her mom...its hard to say...I cant be 100% on what seeing certain things could do some a kids head...I say go for it though.
