Wilson was taken to a Santa Monica, Calif., hospital by paramedics, authorities said Monday, Aug. 27, 2007. LOS ANGELES (AP) — Owen Wilson's hospitalization has left Hollywood executives in a quandary over how to move forward with movies starring the highly bankable actor.

Wilson was in good condition at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, hospital spokeswoman Cynthia Harding said Monday, after being taken by ambulance from his Santa Monica home the previous day for unspecified reasons.

His publicist, Ina Treciokas, didn't respond to an e-mail asking about media reports that Wilson had attempted suicide.

"I respectfully ask that the media allow me to receive care and heal in private during this difficult time," Wilson, 38, said in a statement released Monday through Treciokas. No further comments were expected, she said.

DreamWorks Pictures said filming continues on "Tropic Thunder," a comedy starring Wilson and Jack Black. The studio, in a statement, offered no details on whether Wilson's role would be recast.

It was also unknown how Wilson's appearance opposite Jennifer Aniston in the comedy "Marley & Me" would be affected. A 20th Century Fox spokesman told Hollywood trade paper Daily Variety that "it's a totally inappropriate question at this time."

Wilson's hospitalization could also keep him from promoting "The Darjeeling Limited," co-starring Adrien Brody and Jason Schwartzman. The Fox Searchlight movie is set for release Sept. 29.

Paramount's "Drillbit Taylor," starring Wilson and produced by Judd Apatow, is due out in March.

Wilson was taken to St. John's Health Center in Santa Monica by ambulance Sunday and then transferred to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.

Santa Monica Fire Battalion Chief Jose Torres said the department responded to a call that involved Wilson. The chief wouldn't comment on Wilson's injuries or condition, citing federal privacy laws.

Police Log Shows Owen Wilson Call

SANTA MONICA, Calif. (AP) — Police were called to Owen Wilson's home because of an attempted suicide report, according to a police log of weekend calls.

The log doesn't indicate who made the call Sunday, but lists "attempt suicide" as the reason for it.

Wilson was in good condition Monday at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. Hospital officials said Tuesday they weren't releasing any updated information.

The actor's publicist, Ina Treciokas, declined to answer questions Tuesday about whether Wilson attempted to commit suicide. She said Wilson's statement asking for privacy was all that was being released.

Wilson had two movies in production and two more upcoming releases to help promote.

DreamWorks Pictures said in a statement that filming continues on "Tropic Thunder," a comedy starring Wilson. The studio offered no details on whether Wilson's role in the film, directed by Ben Stiller and starring Jack Black, would be recast.

It was also unknown if Wilson's hospitalization would affect his appearance opposite Jennifer Aniston in the 20th Century Fox comedy "Marley & Me."

A Fox spokesman told Hollywood trade paper Daily Variety that "it's a totally inappropriate question at this time" whether he would appear in the movie.

Wilson's hospitalization could also keep him from helping promote "The Darjeeling Limited," in which he stars alongside Adrien Brody and Jason Schwartzman. The Fox Searchlight film was to be released next month.

Paramount also had a Wilson film due out in March: the Judd Apatow-produced "Drillbit Taylor."

The 38-year-old actor was initially taken by ambulance from his home to Saint John's Health Center in Santa Monica on Sunday and later transferred to Cedars.

The police log shows the initial call came in at 12:08 p.m. and cleared at 5:17 p.m. and a report was filed. Police said Monday that privacy laws prohibited them from releasing that document.

The police log was obtained Tuesday by CelebTV.com.

Treciokas released a brief statement on Wilson's behalf: "I respectfully ask that the media allow me to receive care and heal in private during this difficult time."

90% of his movies are comedys. People need to stop and realize he is an actor. So when you see him in a movie he is "acting a roll" Problem is people see him for who is was in the movies. "a fun loving guy without a care in the world" "oh its owen wilson he couldnt have had any problems" Come on he is a regular person just like the rest of us at the end of the day. He is bound to have his share of problems. Weather it was as bad to come down to committing suicide I can not say I agree with, but still I dont think its right people judge him as "OMG no way innocent little laughing fun loving problem free always smiling owen wilson tried to commit suicide" I feel bad for the guy if he felt the need to attempt to commit suicide. I have my share of stress in my life and still go out and put on the fake smile every day and try to keep your head up about life but I dont think I would ever attempt to commit suicide. I have a daughter on the way so thats my motivation right there. Anyone else have thoughts?

He actually starred in a movie called The Minus Man and he played this weird serial killer. I thought the movie was actually pretty dope and he played the role really well. Never was really a fan of his comedies though.

im surprised by the amount of people who thought wedding crashers was good. what was good about it? i wanted more WEDDING CRASHING, DAMMIT! not a love story with character comedies (the gay brother, the bitch grandma). to me, it was just like any other comedy thats come out in the past 10 years, but its only "funny" cuz of the two main actors that are in it. (granted, they are funny, especially vince vaughn, but come on the movie wasnt that "genious."

and i hope dude gets better, gets back on track.
