i already answered this is the other thread about this...but ill say it again.

the album sucked. other then 2 or 3 songs, all of em had the same format. they were softer rock then during the hooks it got heavier. ive never been a big fan of GnR and this album made sure it stays that way.

cd is dope as hell.though id take a few cds over it personally (killer, bar exam2, & fixtape) "chinese democracy" is easily the BEST cd of '08.

axl totally delivered...yeah, it took for ever and yeah, hes the only original GNR member on it...but if everyone stopped bitching about those 2 details they would look at it for what it is...easily the best rock album in years.such a breath of fresh air considering how awful rock music has become (falloutboy, chemical romance bullshit, ect.)

hopefully slash and them will respect the quality of "chinese democracy" and come back around, but thats extremely doubtful...so hopefully axl will put out another album without em and it wont take 14 years this time :)

It's a dope album. Best of 2008? I dunno if I'd go that far.

What I do wonder tho is if these people who've been shittin all over it (not just on this board) actually took the time to listen to it, cuz there's alot of originality on there and quite honestly I wasn't expecting much. It's got a fresh feel to it with the amount of shitty "hard rock" albums that have been released lately, even over the past two or three years.

Definitely worth the wait to me since I was never expecting it to even be released.

No Slash, No Way.
i dont understand this logic...so many foolish GNR fans dont give "Chinese Democracy" a chance...its damn foolish

im not hating on slash...but hes not in GNR anymore, yeah it might be corny...but its irrelevant when discussing the quality of the MUSIC...axl put in 100% and turned out a solid record...its so corny that some people cant get over crying about slash to realize that.

if you have a problem with the musical quality thats another thing, but slash has no relevance in discussing CD

I listened to a few songs on Myspace and wasn't impressed.Keyboards, drumloops...Axl's voice is not what it used to be. It's not GnR to me. Shit Use Your Illusion wasn't even GnR to me. Appetite for Destruction is where it's at. CD sounds like an older dude trying to be fresh or something. And to the person talking about how Duff and Slack look...have you seen Axl lately? Fake braids, botox. He's a freak. He could hang out with Carrottop

That's why it's good.

What I do wonder tho is if these people who've been shittin all over it (not just on this board) actually took the time to listen to it, cuz there's alot of originality on there and quite honestly I wasn't expecting much. If they did listen to it, then they probably didn't like GNR in the first place. Then again, there's enough people on this board that aren't even old enough to remember who the fuck GNR was... The first listen through I was just kind of like.. "Ok, that's not bad". But after listening to it a time or two, there isn't a single fucking song to skip. "Sorry" is probably my fav song on the album. I def like the new direction of the vocals. Axl kills it when he needs to and doesn't overdo it on the verses. I had expected him to overcompensate, or overproduce the vocals but he's just allowed his older voice to shine through, and he's still the best fucking singer there ever was.

The one complaint that I have is that since he's had about 5 guitarists work on every song over the years, if you know the musicians well enough you can hear a clear distinction between the pieces they pasted together. It's picky, and most people probably wouldn't even notice.

Slash is a faggot. Axl is better off without them washed up junkies. Duff looks like a fuckin zombie.
You have no idea what you're talking about.
