Mike Barret - One quick mention about the news of the new scoreboard before I give you a recap of the day's events at training camp. When you see the changes to the Rose Garden this season, you'll know why this is a worthy topic off the top.
I've got a 50" high def TV in my house, and I think I'm pretty cool. Well, can you imagine four high-definition screens, each measuring 15 feet by 23 feet (use the dude on the lift as a reference)? That's what will be staring you in the face when you enter the Rose Garden this season. I see every scoreboard in every NBA building during the season. Now, Portland will no doubt have the most impressive center-hung board in the NBA. The picture above doesn't do it justice, as I took it with my cell phone camera this week, but that's the best I can do for you right now. You can probably see in the photo, they've got a few test patterns fired up on part of the board- the sides, and lower rings (where you see the white grid and lines are also independent screens that can work with the large screen). I haven't yet seen the picture on the big screens. They'll be amazing. The top portion of the board is a cityscape of Portland, which also lights up.
