Story that sparked the event in a nutshell:
2 weeks ago there was a concert at my University in a "free speech zone". A band said Fuck and someone called the Police. The Cops showed up and declared if the word was said again the concert would be shut down.

Here was my response to the Police in the campus newspaper last week, and a picture of the Protest on campus that followed.

In response to Robin Hoover's article "Police respond to F-word" printed on Oct. 23:

When people start banning words from a free speech area, you completely contradict the meaning of free speech. F*** is a word. Grow up and get over it. If you can't handle a word get out of college because life is way more intense than someone saying a word. When you start putting limitations on free speech it is no longer free speech. F*** is a word, It doesn't hurt you and it doesn't hurt me. Who determines which words are too bad to be said anyways? The more you use a word the weaker its meaning gets, so get over it and grow the f*** up. The FCC, RIAA, Censorship and Springfield Police are an F***** joke. " I censored this on my own, 'cuz I know someone would complain if I didn't."

- Sawyer M.

I'm on the far left in the black "Don't Talk 2 Police Shirt"

This was a picture taken of the campus protest defending our right to use the word "FUCK"

I thought this was cool enough to share with all of you.

Well, if they didnt hang out at the colleges long enough they wouldn't have to worry about the word 'fuck'. So im guessin if the only business they have is passin bibles out... just stick to that...

WOW.

let me say it again..

WOW.

Sounds like your school/town fuckin' blows bibles. Perfect example of the flaws democracy / majority rule. The whole concept of a "free speech zone" is unconstitutional. You should kindly suggest that whomever was responsible for the passing of that law to move out of America and into a country ran by a tyrannical right wing fundamentalist dictator.

I think you were to easy on your local government in your article, but hey if you got "FUCK THE POLICE" published in a newspaper all the power to you.

I was actually really surprised that they even put my article in the paper to begin with... but the same day it was published the protest happened, so I guess my words were strong enough to make a statement.

yet they have no problem with the fire and brimstone preachers used to stand on the bear paw and shout at all the students that they were going to hell and are going to be damned for all eternity for being whores. graduated from MSU in 2005. I passed those fucks on my way to class almost every day.
