He was credited w/ influencing a whole new level of music from disco to early hip hop to rap and beyond. He is also the most sampled artists in history an every producer from Dr Dre to Timberland has borrowed that hook style from the Godfather of Soul....

I still clearly remember seeing James Brown for the first time while watching Rocky 4 when I was a kid. I couldn't fucking believe it when I got up Xmas morning and found out.
