We can get into the shady business of the "music video" industry, but I don't wanna go there. We know if Strange had the means (and DIDN'T have integrity) they could pay for music video spots.

That said...coupled with the above, the main reason that a Killer won't make waves is because...

MUSIC VIDEO IS DEAD.

Has anyone checked MTV lately? Most days the only videos they play are the ones on TRL...and they don't even play those fully. There are some days where they will go 24+ hours without playing a video...and this INCLUDES the midnight-6am spot that used to feature nothing but videos. Seriously...if you have satellite or a channel guide, look through an average day of MTV programming.

Then there's BET. There's no way a video will get played on 106 & Park unless it's voted or unless it's a debut video. Debut videos, again, probably get featured because record labels see to it that they're featured. The only other route is to get more than afew spins on Rap City (Tech's best bet probably) and hope it catches on like wildfire.

Not really... There aren't really "other channels". There's fuse out here in NY, they play music videos the most, but honestly I'd say that's a total of maybe 4-5 hours a day, and I'm pretty sure they only play rap on specific days at specific times as a show, rather than peppering them in with rock/pop/punk-whatever-the-fuck-makes-the-cash type of shit they play.

I was just talking about this the other day. I saw a commercial for somebody's new video. They were like "premiering tomorrow" or something like that. All I thought was, "They still make videos"??

Yeah but I assumed that Fuse was more of a local east coast type of station, and everyone else would have a station that was a little more local to them. I only assumed that because the channel is so poorly produced and they're based out of manhattan.

The internet man. More people watch music videos on the internet than they do on television.

another reason is because tech makes unique and kickass music, but has the same repetitive video as everyone from the rapper rappin in his grandmas basement to jay-z and 50 cent...none of his videos have been anything unique...

music vids like Pharcyde-Drop are cool as hell and they stand out. techs vids are him standing in like 3 different places (club, outside, and another place) with some chicks, and it just switches between the 3 places.....
