i think it has put the u.s. in a position where it must look out for civilians and the future prospects of iraq. i dont think the govt. would be half as careful around the civilian population had it not been one of the big issues with the anti war people. i think they are tip toeing around iraq because of all the eyes on them waiting to make a mistake. i think if the issue had never been brought up we would have had less than 10 coalition casualties so far (and all most likely friendly fire or accidents) and civilian casualties would be MUCH higher.

It's not because of the protesters that we aren't killing a shit load of civilians with mass bombing. We have to follow UN agreements and world opinion whether you like it or not does matter especially in the arab community. Also some military officals actually have morals and high regard for the life of the people we are supposed to be LIBERATING
