ROSEMOUNT, MN (PIX11)—
A principal at Rosemount High School is apologizing for a bizarre and mortifying prank that KARE-TV reported was actually organized by the school.

Captains of the winter sport teams were blindfolded and told by organizers that they would be kissed by a 'special someone', while standing lined up in front of the rest of the school. Believing that the people they were kissing were other students, many began aggressively kissing their own parents. One pair even rolled around on the ground while locking lips.

Another mother caught up in the prank appears to grab her son's hand and slide it down to her butt as they kiss.

To top it off, before the blindfolds were removed the students were asked who they thought they had kissed. One brawny athlete replied, "Um, they had luscious lips,' before taking off the handkerchief and starting at his own mother.

Principal John Wollershem later apologized for the prank. He attempted to explain the event to KARE-TV, "This is supposed to be a fun event and it should leave everyone feeling pepped and if it's leaving people not feeling good or embarrassed or hurt then that's the exact opposite of what we're trying to do.'

The video quickly went viral on YouTube, and most commenters did not see the humor. "NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO," writes once disgusted viewer.

"It doesn't matter that this is "tradition", open mouth kissing your parents isn't a good tradition, that's just... weird. Honestly, wtf is wrong with you people for defending this?!" wrote another.

However, Wollershem confirmed that the prank has been around for years, and at least one viewer couldn't understand the outrage. "This is a gag that has been used for decades! It always amazes me the kids who post these vulgar comments."

What the holy hell, tradition, really tradition. Tricking teens into making out with their parents is not a tradition I want a part of.

SCHOOL--"So Mr. Johnson it's that time of the year were we trick the students, would you be a willing participate?"

MR. JOHNSON--"What will I have to do?"

SCHOOL--"Were going to blind fold your daughter and your going to make out with her in front of the whole school"

(at this point normal people would report such a thing)

MR. JOHNSON--"Sure thing sounds like fun"

How does everyone there seem not disturbed by this. I mean rolling on the ground, open mouth kissing your parents, having your mom slide your hand on her ass, another place to add to my long list of places never to visit.
