yeah, theres been talks about it being remade.. and Nic Cage, being lead.. but its hard to believe he can pull it off after watching the original..
The actor for the lead of the original, Choi Min Sik.. is amazing. Here's the description of the movie:
"Imagine this . . . it’s your daughter’s third birthday today. After buying her a birthday gift, you are grabbed and knocked out by several men. When you wake, you find yourself in a room with four walls, decorated to look like a cheap motel with nothing but a bed, a desk and drawer, some pads to write on, a mirror on the wall, and a TV set to keep you company. Incarcerated against your will, there is no one to talk to, no one to hear you, no one to ask why – no judge, no jury, no executioner. At first, you can only pray that they will let you out in a few weeks, but the weeks become months and the months soon become years. Eventually, you look in the mirror and see that your youth has been spent in your cell, imprisoned without any rhyme or reason. What did you do wrong? Who did you piss off? Why did you get incarcerated? No one to hear you cry and no one to hear you pray except a television set . . . That is exactly what happened to Oh Daesu (Choi Min Sik). Facing nothing but four walls and a TV set, Oh Daesu sees the news that his wife was murdered by him three years to the date he was incarcerated. Obviously someone is framing him and that same person is keeping him in prison. At first, he prays and when his prayers aren’t answered, he gives up hope and tries to commit suicide. But after awhile, it just becomes rage and fury. Oh Daesu begins to train himself by punching the walls, watching all the fights on TV, educating himself through the TV set for that one day when he gets out, Oh Daesu will unleash unholy hell on the man who put him there. But who is it and why did he put Daesu there? "
Don't let the Korean fool you.. u'll get into this movie and it will have ya by the balls..
