NFL Networks Adam Schefter is reporting that San Francisco 49ers offensive lineman Larry Allen is set to retire. According to the report, Allen is making the decision to retire rather than the having the 49ers make the decision for him. With San Francisco wrapping up a disappointing 5-and-11 season, the 14-year veteran was reportedly not interested in coming back to a team not viewed as being on the verge of winning a championship.
The 36-year old Allen began his career with the Dallas Cowboys in 1994 as a second round draft pick out of Sonoma State. He was the lead blocker for Emmit Smith while also helping to protect quarterback Troy Aikman as Dallas went on to dominate the NFL in the 1990’s. If Allen does decide to retire, he would be eligible for the Hall of Fame in 2013– an induction class that could also include his teammate with the 49ers this season, defensive lineman Bryant Young along with former Oakland Raiders tackle Warren Sapp.
Larry Allen = Beast of the NFL

mike martz isnt gonna save the 9ers.
Don't speak so soon my dear friend. Can Martz save the Niners? Its highly possible. Will he help them? Fuck yeah he will. When the Niners have proven OC, their offense does way much better. Dumb ass Nolan needs to get the fuckin boot! He's not a very good coach like his daddy. Nolans dumb ass promotes some cock socking DC to OC. Gee what a great move.

But good shit to Larry Allen. The man is a beast. I would like him play another year with the 'Boys. I think the 'Boys have the best shot of winning the NFC with its returning players. But their coaching staff will be questioned. They lost quite a few coaches to Parcells.

Possibly next year, I think right now they have some of the right pieces of the puzzle, but havent fit them in yet, the Defense has a great chance to be monsterous... you gotta realize the potential of Justin Smith playing Right Outside Linebacker, hes has the same build as Merrioid, but hes not quite as athletic, i think he could be a Fred Dean type player and have that huge impact, Goldson is looking more and more like he will unseat Roman @ Safety next to Michael Lewis, and With a decent pass rush, Walt Harris should be alright in coverage, and Nate can hold his down.... With Justin Smith @ OLB, i belive we will potentially have a top 5 LB Core.....

Offensively, Bruce is just a temporary fix, he can still perform, but not to an elite level, and he will provide the QB with an instant target since he knows Martz scheme, i think Ashley Lelie is the dark horse here... If Martz can work his magic, we will have a very potent offense....

But i believe it will be next year.....
