possibly the best shootout scene in a movie ever, for reality location, bdassness, and the sound of them muthaafuckas...michael mann does gun sounds right.

Yeah that shootout is the best ever I think. I bought that shit at Wal-Mart not too long ago. That scene never gets old. The sound is fucking intense.

BTW, this movie came out before the North Hollywood bank robbery shootout. Wonder if this movie inspired those two shooters.

I think this scene's shootout is better than any one shootout that I can think of in any War style of movie. Saving Private Ryan's D-Day scene was pretty damn good, but not as realistic as this Heat scene IMO. It was too cinematic, like the camera was there perfectly in place when people got shot. The visuals and sound in the Heat shootout is perfect so it looks like your watching a live shootout, the sound doesn't stop.
