New Friday the 13th Poster and Movie Trailer
New Line Cinema has premiered the new movie trailer and theatrical poster for their re-imagining of Friday the 13th on Yahoo. I love how it starts off with the voice over of Jason’s mother. Director Marcus Nispel was the man who did the 2003 Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake, which I actually enjoyed. If anything, this guy knows how to make a film look good. He especially knows how to play with light and mood, which is evident in this trailer. Also, it helps that the music is just so damn awesome.
I do have a problem with them showing the kill count on screen. Yes, we know that the kids are going to die, but isn’t the point of a slasher movie to enjoy the insane deaths? Why give most, if not all, of them away for free in the trailer? A commenter points out that this idea was used in the trailer for Friday the 13th Part II.
