Generally when a team has a defense near the level Tampa Bay does, history will show they lack on the offensive side. That seems to be what many people are over-looking in this years BUCS. The addition of Gruden has brought a big deal of improvement to this offense. Although Pittman isn’t the fastest back the BUCS have seen, he is gaining at least as many yards as Dunn did. What he brings is brute strength, he may not break for a 50 yard touchdown, but when you need 2 yards for a first he will be much more efficient. The Raiders are good in every aspect of their offense. Although criticized because of age, Oakland’s offense is fast enough, strong enough, and more then any other team in the NFL, they are smart enough. Tampa Bay however, is better in every aspect of their defense, one of which being their ability to get to the ball, and the high-speed in which they accomplish that feat. One of the most important things of all, you have the old Raiders coach on the opposing side. Weather or not the old plays are still being used; the guy knows how his old players think. He knows Gannon's thought process in pressure situations, and with passing being one of the strongest points of this Raider team, they will have trouble against the number one ranked pass defense. Expect Gruden to get involved on both sides of the ball. It will be the defense once again for the Tampa Bay BUCCANEERS that decides this game. I expect some injuries, some defense and I definitely expect some controversy. I predict the BUCS will win this game.

Tampa Bay: 27
Oakland: 20

I may change my score as we get closer to game time, but it will be official within 24 hours of the kickoff.

well statistically raiders are better than bucs

raiders overall

offense #1
def #11

bucs

offense #24

def # 1

all threaiders need to do is sack johnson a few times and that fool will be out again with his fucked up back, and his backup qb aint shit so itll be all good

gannon barely if ever throws an interception even when under pressure and he can run, so the def will have to watch out

raiders win 24-13

camoflauge: Let me tell you why statistics such as you have provided don’t mean as much as you think. You can take a sub par offense, match them with horrible defensive teams and statistically they will achieve the best offense in the league. Then take a good offense, face them against tough defenses, you can trust they will not rank nearly as high. That’s not to say the Raiders don’t have the best offense, I mean, they played a few good defensive teams, but the BUCS faced allot more then they did, which accounts for the lack of offensive production. If we want to throw statistics in here, I can end it all with how the Raiders scored 10 points against, and lost to the worst defensive team in the NFL, the Kansas City Chiefs. Within a season you’re going to find flaws; who they beat, who they lost to, sometimes it all doesn’t make sense. However, in the end, we can truly decipher between first and second.

EVERYONE WANTS TO TALK ABOUT THE RAIDERS "O" AND THE BUCS"D" BUT I THINK THE DIFFERENCE WILL BE THAT THE RAIDERS HAVE A UNDERRATED DEFENSE THAT I THINK WILL DOMINATE A NON-MOBILE QB LIKE BRAD JOHNSON.THE BUCS WONT RUN ON THE RAIDERS AND I DOUBT THAT BRAD JOHNSON WILL BE ABLE TO THROW 35-45 PASSES AND NOT TURN THE BALL OVER.THEY MIGHT SLOW THE RAIDERS OFFENSE DOWN BUT THEY WILL STILL GET SOME POINTS. AND ALL THIS TALK ABOUT GRUDEN KNOWING THE RAIDERS,WELL CALLAHAN KNOWS GRUDEN JUST AS WELL!!!24-13 RAIDERS!!!!

RAIDER NATION!!!!

hmmmm.....

I think it will be a close game either way. I'm gonna go with the fact that 'defense wins championships' and take the Bucs in a tight one over the Raiders.....

Oakland 13
Tampy Bay 20

BOSS925: Everyone is talking about those two aspects because, that’s what really got those teams to where they are. The Raiders defense isn't really under-rated either, they are ranked 6th in the NFL in points allowed. Everyone knows about the Raiders defensive weapons, they are somewhat over-shadowed by the GREAT defense of Tampa Bay, but anyone who knows sports, knows Oakland has a defense. As far as Gruden being a former coach of the Raiders NOT being an advantage, ill have to disagree their. You right about Callahan knowing Gruden and all, but the difference is simple. Gruden knows the entire Raider organization, all the players, and all the coaching staff. That is a big advantage. What does Callahan know about the BUCS? The fact that he knows a little about how Gruden might react in certain situations IS an advantage, but not nearly as big.

as of bucs offense
with tampa and eagles during the reg seasion johnson was put under pressure and sacked, he was horrible and the raiders need to exploit that. the cheifs i believe were one of the highest scoring teams, which means they could rack up points and win, good point but that was during a slump, guess you forgot the season finale where the chiefs got shut out. as for the schedules tampa faced some very overrated and weakass teams like the lions. panthers, saints which beat up on each other in their worthless north/south nfc divisions
the only bad teams that raiders played were the cardinals and seahawks which werent in their division and they played some major scoring offense teams like the jets and won

so if you dont believe stats show anything the fact is there are veteran players that will help the team, as for gruden there offense and defense has changed for the better without him so we will see on sunday who will come out on top

so how are your niners anyways? just digging a bigger ditch for themselves right?

Statistics do mean something, just not everything. I was pointing out a loss to the Chiefs as an example, clearly Kansas City isn’t better then the Raiders, nor are they ranked higher, but they beat them. Your right, the Raiders faced allot of good teams, but not allot of great defensive teams. The Raiders did have a harder schedule then the BUCS did too, I won’t deny that, but I was just sort of justifying the BUCS offense, and why they are not ranked higher. Im not trying to take anything away from the Raiders, they are as good as their stats show.

As for my 49ers, that is another story. All im going to say on that right now is, I think they might have fired the wrong person, and blamed the wrong people. The only way they can make up for their mistake is by highering a better coach then Mooch, I wouldnt mind seeing Eagles defensive coordinator Jim Johnson give it a crack. I have allot more to say on this, but I don’t want to spark up another fire here.

Bammer- Funny shit putting Pittsburg in that poll.

I dont want to be biased in this opinion so i am not. I want the raiders to win obviously. But Bucs "D" is REALLY good and the Raiders "O" is good as well. I think it will come down to Special Teams and whoever doesnt fuck up or miss a field goal or whatever will win. Thats what I think.

NITRO U MISSED MY POINT I WAS SAYNG THAT OUR OFFENSE HAS A BETTER SHOT AGAINST THE TAMPA DEFENSE THEN THE TAMPA OFFENSE HAS AGAINST THE RAIDERS DEFENSE. TO ME ITS PUTTING A GREAT OFFENSE VS. A GREAT DEFENSE SO THEY WILL BOTH HAVE THERE MOMENTS.BUT THE TAMPA OFFENSE VS THE OAKLAND DEFENSE IS PUTTING AN AVERAGE OFFENSE(IF IT'S EVEN AS GOOD AS AVERAGE) VS. A GOOD DEFENSE.THATS WHERE I THINK WE HAVE AN ADVANTAGE. AND AS FAR AS GRUDEN KNOWING THE RAIDERS WE HAVE 9 NEW STARTERS ON DEFENSE FROM WHEN GRUDEN WAS HERE AND HE IS NOT A DEFENSIVE COACH SO HIM KNOWING ABOUT OUR OFFENSIVE WONT HELP THAT MUCH. WE ALSO RUN ALOT DIFFERENT OFFENSE IF U REALLY LOOK AT IT. IT'S SOMEWHAT THE SAME BUT IT'S WAY MORE AGGRESSIVE.
