Obama wins 2009 Nobel Peace Prize

US President Barack Obama has won the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize.

The Nobel Committee said he was awarded it for "his extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and co-operation between peoples".

There were a record 205 nominations for this year's prize.

The laureate - chosen by a five-member committee - wins a gold medal, a diploma and 10m Swedish kronor ($1.4m).

Nobel Peace prize is a farce anyways. They've been handing it out to terrorists and shit-doers for years now, just remember Arafat got one too, lol

^The end does not always justify the means. Believe me, im the last one on this site to defend Israel, but giving someone the nobel peace price who condones violence as a way to obtain freedom, is more than contradictory.

Yea, well they are the aggressors, but it has become a vicious cycle, where innocence is rare on both sides. And its not like Arafat brought profound and long-lasting change to the table, thats my whole point, i just don't think he deserves a prize, assigned for the preservation of peace.
