thats a good question.. it had me thnking and i came to the conclusion its both... how? religion being intolerant of homos gives those who want to follow the faith a sense of self loathing if they feel tempted...and the person(in this case anyway) because it seemed he was the one with the loudest rally cry against it, so he put himself in that position...

Heres where part of the problem lies. Not all religions are intolerant of homosexuals, and if you narrow it down to "christianity" you have some "christian" sects that are tolerant of homosexuality. In addition, self loathing should be attributed to the person and not the religion. Think about it for a second, and ask yourself about the self loathing individual who finds religion because he/she is self loathing. If the religion says "you're a bad person for doing A and you have no way to ever correct A" thats bad and can introduce self-loathing. However, "christianity" does not promote this.

I agree that it's hypocritical, but that's not the point I was making. I was saying that when something like this happens, people often times try to make it seem like this is indicative of the entire group and not just the individual. Plus, the media often times give the impression that this is a growing trend or happening with great frequency.

The latest thread was listed and its title made NO SENSE. I clicked on it, saw some smut and now I'm sexually immoral. I even hit the thread about Ice T's girl coco and clicked on a couple of her pics. Am I just as bad as Haggard?

I really don't give a damn about Haggard. His church is probably a 501 c3 church, and they probably promote the name it and claim it doctrine. Hell, they probably even support a pre trib rapture or a cosmic jesus, and the fact that his church was ran as a coporation/business (he was FIRED) compromises the bible (at leats in my eyes.)
