It's never going to happen. The chargers have already committed 20+ million dollars to Rivers. He isn't going anywhere. The Niners are using the pick. Period. This is a gay rumor started by a Chargers fan that wants his team to draft Braylen Edwards with the first pick. It ain't happening. This rumor has been shot down by Chris Mortensen on sportscenter, by Mike Nolan, and by the Chargers GM. There is no truth to it. The two teams have never talked about a trade. End of story.

where did you get this info from?
Well if the Chargers had the first pick, who would they choose? They don't need a running back, so it isn't going to be Ronnie Brown or Cedric Benson. They obviously aren't taking another QB. There's not really a defensive player worth using a number 1 pick on. It's gotta be Edwards because the Chargers could definitely use help at receiver and also because some people(Not me) feel like he's the top player in this year's draft.

And this rumor was undeniably started by a Chargers fan because they were ending up with the better part of the deal haha.

The only player that was ever called the next Joe Montana was Rick Mirer and the only time he was a Niner was when he was third string. Raiders fans should be familiar with Rick by now.

actually the deal works for both sides, frisco wouldve got a better qb than they are going to get in the draft, bad part for the bolts was they wouldve took a HUGE salary cap hit. word around town has them taking marcus spears with the 12th pick

Yes, 100 % serious, eh. Doug's experience is worth it, plus no one is better than him on that bench.

theres good and bad parts about that.....
Niners could probably sign flutie for the veterans minimum.....they could sign him and even cut him after training camp and lose nothing.
the expiecence factor is a plus, he also has a knack for making players around him better.

bad parts are his size, he has to keep the pocket rolling to sides in order to see the play downfield,
he also tends to get away from gameplans, almost as if the coach calls in one play and he changes it in the huddle!-thats why he is so dangerous off the bench, its hard to plan for him.
however, if you give teams weeks to prepare for him, they come up with gameplans to shut him down

Philip Rivers is not a better QB than Aaron Rodgers. You'll be eating those words 5 years from now.
