When deciding which kicker to start, what do you typically go by? I have two kickers on my team, Mason Crosby and Matt Bryant.

Mason Crosby plays for the Packers, and they play the Vikings this week. Matt Bryant plays for the Falcons and they play the Rams this week.

I know that Matt Bryant is a top five kicker in the league right now, but they play the Rams, and I don't know if Rams' D is going to hold one of the better teams in the league to just FG's, so I'm wondering if I should start Mason Crosby, considering the Vikings' D might hold them to just that.

Usually divisional games are much closer so fg kickers are better in those types of games. So since you have two go with Crosby.

i would start crosby over bryant, you always want to start the kicker who faces a tougher defense...in theory this would hoepfully lead to stalled drives and settling for 3 instead of 6
Yup That's what I was thinking, too. I was leaning towards more Crosby before making this thread, but I wanted to see others input on this type of situation lol

i'd vote for the dome kicker.
I want to, but they play the Rams. Rams have been better than they were last season, but I think the Falcons are going to get more TD's than FG's in this one.

Yup, it's settled. I'm using Mason Crosby.

I just hope Matt Bryant doesn't end up having the better game this week.

But you should hopefully have good enough players on your team that the kicker is the least of your worries

Lloyd is killin it this year. I think he leads the league in yds.

Picked him up a couple weeks into the season as a FA. Then someone dropped Vick after the rib injury and I had an open roster spot so I picked him up! Playing in 3 diff leagues on yahoo n pretty sure all from siccness. I got Vick on 2 of my squads.

selecting a kicker is tough. MANY factors come into play. These are the main factors (in order of importance): The most important thing is how good a kicker is (accuracy and power). most kickers are good otherwise they wouldn't even be in the NFL... other factors... 1) how good of an offensive team the kicker is on (do they drive the ball up the field with ease) 2) how good is the red zone defense of the opposing team (look at matchups) 3) the weather/wind factor (dome vs. outdoor etc)

i could go on and on, but that's the most important factors. Tight ends are also tough when drafting. anyway, i would give the slight edge to crosby. both kickers are great with great matchpus

Yeah man, I already know that Crosby and Bryant are good kickers. Crosby was one of the better kickers from last season, which is why I selected him. I looked at both kickers' up-coming opponents, and looked at their opponents' stats.

red zone stats and weather and all that are important, but it is impossible to predict kickers for one game. i have my opinions and predictions on kickers for an entire season, but predicting one week is tuff tuff tuff. check out this fantasy football blog i run if you want it's called fantasy couch http://www.fantasycouch.com
